Just Start Making Stuff

Gary Penn, talking about games in The Guardian:

“It’s about trying to get results as soon as you possibly can, using things like repertoire – as in, the known, the familiar, the practiced, the repeatable. Things like middleware would fall into that category. Use any tools you’ve used before, any code you’ve used before, any frameworks you’ve used before; because getting the results is the most important thing. You’ve got to get shit happening – you can talk about it, you can write it down, it means nothing until you actually make it and think f**k that’s nothing like what I thought it was going to be! That happens most of the time.”

I recently rediscovered Super HyperCube, a puzzle game by Polytron & Kokoromi for Gamma3d, the predecessor of this years Gamma IV. Besides the stereoscopy its most interesting feature is the inclusion of wiimote interface for headtracking, which is unfortunately not very accessible.

Aliens vs. Predator Banned in Australia.

Yet another video game thwarted by the Australians failing to implement an Adult Only rating. I am not particularly devastated in regards to this particular title, however, it once again reveals that the censorship board doesn’t recognise video games as an adult medium.

Incidentally, I am reminded of this.
