Iron Man - Industrial Design Fantasy
I had planed to treat my last post as a subtle recommendation to those who haven’t yet see Iron Man, however, i am over come with passion for this film. Rather then mirror the usual points on Roberts portrayal, excellent CG and likeness to the comic, i have to praise the attention payed to the fashion in which the suits where built. From the moment Tony Stark makes a Palladium sand casting, using salvage parts deep in the mountains of Afghanistan, to the gold electroplated alloy prototype fabricated after he examines the parts on an interactive holographic projection. This is a film for industrial designers and engineers, to fuel their fantasies and speculations.
