I know of someone who plans to open a dedicated fixie store here in Brisbane, I hope, for his sake it can be sustained. Since it’s primarily the messenger crowd that ride here and that scene is only very small. I represent the “hipster” the article cites, as i can’t honestly say riding a track bike is entirely practical. I often have people approach me in wonderment over my Swobo, which is a sign of the absence of a fixed gear culture here.
