Feiyue were to the Chinese what Chuck Taylors are to the North Americans. In 2006 the brand was acquired by French enthusiasts, which resulted in a number of changes to the fabrication and diversification of the design (right). Originally Feiyue where manufactured in china by Top One (left) as early as 1931, which can still be found by that name at roughly a third of the price demanded by the French.
