Parupu
by Claesson Koivisto Rune.
An insightful collection of videos on the process behind these paper pulp marvels can be found via YouTube. Cellulose materials have been a fascination of mine for some time, recently deciding to pursue paper pulp in furniture design. The profile of Parupu has dampened my enthusiasm some what, as any subsequent designs would be seen as less original. On the other hand, further (good) examples may encourage a renaissance for the process, which provides a wonderful alterative to the heinously overused injection and rotationally moulded plastics.
